The Casino is a dreary sort of a  place, especially when it rains.  But most people don’t just stand there; instead they walk through–back or forth or both.

This place  is dark, but always there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it’s raining.  It’s a quiet place usually, unless there is live music, and walking by live music is comforting  because our brains usually welcome music.

And why is there always music (called a soundtrack) when we watch a movie?   And, unless you are like me, you barely are aware of the music playing and influencing your sensory experience.  But it is important, and “Hollywood” knows that.   That’s why Ennio Morricone won  Academy Awards.

 

And Arthur Prysock had a hit with this song from Drearyville; and I like it, especially since, lurking in the background, is Count Basie and his band.
