The ‘Tween Waters Inn is located on Captiva Island, just north of Sanibel Island, between the Gulf of Mexico and Pine Island Sound, on the west coast of Florida. The resort is very “old Florida.” Christmas down there is a bit forced since it doesn’t seem natural to spend December away from the cold, but nobody is complaining.
The little sandy path goes about 30 yards to the Gulf, and you can walk around everywhere in sandals. This part of the Gulf seems strange to Jersey Shorians since there are no waves, no surfers, no boardwalks, no lifeguards, no beach badges, and no crowds. You can go on the fishing pier and do as you please.

Twenty-four little hours
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain.”
