By Paul Goldfinger, Editor  @Blogfinger

As most of you know, Pegi Costantino is a gardening expert, author, radio host and columnist on Blogfinger (writing as “Miss Pegi”) In addition, she and husband Tom own the Victorian residence at 89 Mt. Carmel Way which is the home of the original and newly revived Ocean Grove Woman’s Club.  (Here is a link to the BF article about the OGWC    https://blogfinger.net/2014/03/20/thinking-out-of-the-box-at-the-new-og-womens-club/    )

So we at Blogfinger were quite interested when we learned that Pegi and her husband Tom were going to re-take their marriage vows after 25 years and they were going to do it on the porch of their historic  (1875) Ocean Grove home.

Pegi says that she married Tom on a 125 acre farm in Hunterdon County 25 years ago and that there were more cows and chickens in attendance than people. She has been dieting for some time lately to successfully fit into her original wedding gown.

Today the Costantino’s took their vows again in front of about 30 family members, including two daughters, and friends. A Presbyterian minister presided, and Pegi looked radiant in her pale pink gown.  Afterwards everyone gathered for dinner in the spacious living room that doubles as the club house of the OGWC.

When Heather, age 24 and her 28 year old roommate moved into Asbury Park six months ago, they thought that they had made a perfect decision for their needs, but they were unhappy there for a variety of reasons including concerns about safety and friendliness.    Three months ago they moved to Ocean Grove, and now they are so happy here that they want to buy their own home in the Grove  someday; perhaps they’ll be ready in three years.

Meanwhile Heather, a bartender who commutes to Philly for work, says, “We love it here in Ocean Grove.”   She says that it is “beautiful” and people are” friendly.” Heather finds the town to be quiet and reassuring.  She is not afraid to walk her dog Riley in the evening, and when they go to Founders’ Park she meets others who form a dog-friendly community.  Heather likes living in a place that has a history and she would like to learn more about that.
