Letter to the Editor: Citizens attend Wesley Lake Commission Meeting

Last night I attended the Wesley Lake Commission monthly meeting with my wife.  While  waiting for the the meeting to start we were remarking that the turnout was not great.  Much to our surprise, when the meeting started, the officials were overwhelmed by the turnout—-about 20 people.

The public part of the meeting seemed very productive.  I believe the well-thought-out comments helped to focus the Commission on the task at hand.  The next meeting is October 21st.  A really solid turnout of 50 or so and we might really see action improving the deplorable condition of the historic and valuable local resource.

Please spread the word as you do so well!

DAVIS

The Wesley Lake Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the Neptune Municipal Building at 5:30 pm. The agenda and minutes are posted (once they get around to it) on Neptune’s website. The group that was in attendance last week was told that details of the plan to improve the lake, short term and long term, would be presented at one of the subsequent meetings.

I attended the meeting last night as well. I agree with Davis. The public part comments were truly heart felt. I will be at every meeting until this is resolved.

Davis: Congratulations to those activist citizens of OG who got off their easy chairs and went to that meeting. This is the way to begin turning the ship of state in a small town. Right now no ship will sail in that body of water.

It’s similar to the flood zone activists from that southeast neighborhood who are seeing results from their involvement.
