Naples, Fla is named the “Best Beach Town to Live In” by WalletHub. Naples and the surrounding metropolitan area is ranked in the “Top 10 Best Adventure Destinations in the United States” by the U.S. Tourism Quality Index. Naples ranked #1 Least Polluted City in the United States by Realtor.com.

Naples is  one of the most beautiful cities in America.  Their real estate is very precious, but they manage to have 3 dog parks to the delight of residents and visitors.  Nearby are dog parks in Estero and Marco Island.  And almost all of these are “off the leash.”

Ocean Grove is a haven for canine friends and relatives.  If you have walked a dog in the Grove, you will attract all sorts of welcome attention.  It is about more than dogs in our town.  It’s about a civilized feature in a place that needs more of those.

This is one of those life style issues that get ignored by those in town who love our donations, support and taxes.    Go Scarlet Fliers!  Keep up the pressure for a dog park in OG.

To the Editor:

April 26, 2012:

Hi, I’m new to OG and have really enjoyed the community thus far (6 months). I also really appreciate the pet friendly environment and the respectful nature of the pet owners in picking up after themselves. It keeps our open spaces useable for everyone. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking my black lab Caymus for her daily walks, especially on the beach. I haven’t broken it to her yet that those come to a screeching halt here soon.

Has there been any forward movement on the “OG Dog Beach” initiative that Cindy (Pet Boutique) is involved in? If there are opportunities to assist in that endeavor in any way or if and when public support is required, I would like to help. My hope is that I can get information updates from Blogfinger.  Thanks much for keeping us all
“in-the loop.”
