Naples, Fla is named the “Best Beach Town to Live In” by WalletHub. Naples and the surrounding metropolitan area is ranked in the “Top 10 Best Adventure Destinations in the United States” by the U.S. Tourism Quality Index. Naples ranked #1 Least Polluted City in the United States by Realtor.com.
Naples is one of the most beautiful cities in America. Their real estate is very precious, but they manage to have 3 dog parks to the delight of residents and visitors. Nearby are dog parks in Estero and Marco Island. And almost all of these are “off the leash.”
Ocean Grove is a haven for canine friends and relatives. If you have walked a dog in the Grove, you will attract all sorts of welcome attention. It is about more than dogs in our town. It’s about a civilized feature in a place that needs more of those.
This is one of those life style issues that get ignored by those in town who love our donations, support and taxes. Go Scarlet Fliers! Keep up the pressure for a dog park in OG.
DIANA KRALL from her album Live in Paris.
Curmudgeon: I don’t know if you have any experience with dog parks, but if there were one in OG, the owners who would come would certainly be Grovers , visitors, and summer renters who could walk to such a facility.
I went with my son a few times to the Asbury dog beach. Only a handful of dogs would be present, and most of the people we met were from A. Park. We met no one from OG.
There might be a few who would come by car just to visit a dog park, but no one who comes to a dog park stays very long.
We see dog owners stop by car at Firemens Park on occasion and take their dogs for a walk and then get back into their vehicles and drive off.
So I doubt that your concern is a real “absolutely not” criterion for rejection. Even the CMA has to tap into their religious “mission” for them to say “absolutely not.”
Thanks, Paul @Blogfinger
Absolutely not. A dog park will bring outsiders in cars. Parking is bad enough.
