On Saturday night August 6, 2016, a large crowd brought their  humperdincks to the Great Auditorium, because Englebert Humperdinck, a famous Englishman who has sold 150 million records world-wide, performed with a 10-piece band including two svelte female back-up singers.

Humperdinck is now getting on in years, but  he put on an enjoyable show, reminiscing about his old friends such as Dean Martin and showing videos from his glory days.  He had so many hits over the years that he probably could have done ten shows without repeating a song.

He chatted with the audience including complimenting the GA’s  “air conditioning” as he took off his jacket and opened his silk shirt.

We went  with a bunch of our closest humpernickels, and everyone was amazed at how good Englebert’s  voice still is.  He evidently has lots of fans.  They were  on their feet cheering his music.
