Take Sunset to the Carnival behind Convention Hall. There is a paid lot or metered parking on the street or side streets. Note how unobtrusive the kiosks are.Neptune is nuts not to charge for OG parking. This approach could help loosen up the situation in the Grove. But don’t forget permits for residents.

Dave: I can recall some early discussions (c. 2005) in Ocean Grove regarding meters. They were dismissed then because those single meters were too “ugly;” or “not Victorian.” What’s the excuse now for rejecting them? Ask the CMA.
Yet no one said that condominiums were not Victorian, and now there are over 300 non-Victorian condos in the Grove.

Manhattan got rid of its last single-space parking meter in 2011, 60 years after the first one was installed.
Asbury Park got its first meter even earlier in 1940.
