Bradley Beach will have their annual Memorial Day Parade (Monday, May 31, )and Asbury Park will have their annual Carnival. Other New Jersey towns including Freehold will be going ahead with their parades.
But Neptune says “No.” This is despite the fact that Neptune has given the OK for the forthcoming June 5 Giant OG Flea Market 5 days later, sponsored by the Chamber of Commercials.
If COVID risk is the issue, then how can Mayor “Dr. No” explain this apparent hypocrisy.
Surely the virus-laden shoulder to shoulder event would be the riskier of the two. Anyone can distance at the parade, but not at the Flea Market.
Perhaps there are some political factors entering into their decision; or is it about money?
As for the 12 day Asbury Park Memorial Day Carnival, don’t miss it. It is on now through the holiday weekend. It is held in Bradley Park by the Convention Center. The hours are 6 pm-10 pm week days and 1 pm -10 pm on Sat, Sun and Monday (5/31).
