A few weeks ago Harmony, a high school student, and her Ocean Grove family decided to help an abandoned Canada goose chick who was alone after its sibling was killed. The family lives along the shore of Wesley Lake at the Ocean Grove North End.
They contacted the ASPCA who suggested that they nurture the chick until it was older at which time it would be banded and released.
Harmony has been feeding it corn and grain as she was instructed. The chick was named Lucky, and Harmony takes it in tow down to the Lake to carouse with its friends the ducks. Lucky spends the nights indoors with Harmony.
Already the chick is getting larger, and if all goes well, the goose will be released subsequently.
