Bridgefest was already creating traffic jams and crowds on Friday morning near the Great Auditorium. I drove by and met gridlock; fortunately it was temporary. Parking was becoming difficult. This two day beach event will be held on Friday and Saturday, 6/24 and 6/25.
Over at the Auditorium Square Park many booths were set up or in the process, selling souvenirs and offering inspiration.
ART GARFUNKEL
Norm: You and curmudgeon are right. It would help to get visitors to park at the elementary school and/or the North End. Then bus them in and out. It’s not a new idea, but it must be done.
There are creative solutions Park Man. An easy one for the OGCMA: utilization of empty (“school is out”) school parking lots with cutesy “trolleys” taking visitors back and forth. What’s needed: aside from the rented “trolleys”, a bipartisan pact, with CMA providing a liability policy and some security personnel.
All these events plus the vacationers, day trippers, tourists, and the concert in the Auditorium Saturday Night………….where do those people park? On the new roof!
How can the OGCMA do this?
