NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH: Car Burglaries

February 21, 2012 by Blogfinger

By Charles Layton

Six unlocked vehicles were entered this past weekend, Ocean Grove’s Neighborhood Watch reports, and police arrested several juveniles for car burglaries.

Two of the vehicles were in the 90 block of Embury Avenue, two were in the area of 140 Cookman Avenue, one was near 130 Stockton Avenue and one was near 110 Asbury Avenue.

In addition, two bicycles were reported stolen, one from the area of 110 Abbott Avenue and one from the area of 50 Main Avenue.

We reported earlier that two iPods were stolen from separate businesses on Main Avenue last week, and a suspect was arrested. (For info on that, click here.)

Our Neighborhood Watch liaison, Officer Michael Adam, urges residents to lock all cars, keep personal belongings secure, and “if you are a store owner keep your personal electronics out of reach from customers.” Also, of course, call the police immediately if you are a victim of a crime.
