We heard from a long-time Ocean Grove resident that people in his/her neighborhood are “frustrated, cold, sick and upset.” They want to hear from our Neptune Township leaders as to why they remain without power and what these leaders can do to help them. This citizen would not allow us to use his/her name, but I promised to post his/her concerns anyhow. Normally we allow anonymous comments but we do not allow anonymous letters to the editor. Let’s call this category “an anonymous comment by phone call.”
Evidently, the power remains out from Central Avenue to the ocean on Abbott Avenue and Broadway, but we have also heard of troubles on Sea View, Webb, Embury and Surf.
Hopefully, we will hear from the Mayor about this. When we interviewed him in Shark River Hills about a week ago, he was swamped with multiple storm-related issues. But it is time for him to make a statement directed to Ocean Grovers regarding this terrible situation.

ps : It’s 10:50 a.m., and we are getting brown outs. Meanwhile, the storm has barely gotten out of the starting gate.
