Here’s a song for a delightful Ocean Grover. Her name is Mildred, and she always says “Hi” to those who walk by. On Mt. Tabor Way she has a way. Of smiling at all who stop by her porch..made of mahoganay.
We met her today and we already are getting to know her.
And furthermore, win a prize if you are the first to name the woman who sings this song. If you win, you can see Ritchie at Smuggler’s Cove on Main Avenue in Ocean Grove. He is the smuggler who has your prize. Mildred also asks that you not use any electonic helpers to solve this question.
This song is from the Rodgers and Hammerstein show “The King and I.” Barbara Cook recorded it with a childrens’ chorus. We held back the winner’s name to stimulate participation. Thanks to all who failed to guess Barbara first. Amazingly, Barbara Cook is 85 years old and she still performs.
