Editor’s note:   We don’t know how the Saturday, July 6,  2024 edition will be, but here is the Blogfinger report on the July 3,  2021 edition.  Tomorrow  July 4, 2024  is the  actual holiday, but we will report on the latest version.  Small town America in action.

Rain was predicted and it definitely prevented some “marchers” from showing up. We estimate that nearly 50% were “no shows.”   But the crowd, although smaller than usual, had a great time, especially the kids and the families.  We saw smiles all over; applause, cheers and good cheer , candies flying and flags flying.

 

 

I got whacked in the head with a pack of candy, and when I turned around, this is what I saw.  Many fire trucks attended the parade.  Paul Goldfinger photo.

OG Summer Band—the closest thing to a marching band in the parade. The Kazoos stayed home.   Was Sousa rolling his eyes? This group did fine.

 

UPS truck couldn’t get through, but the package did.
