THE BEACH BOYS.    “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”

Wishful thinking: “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could wake up
in the morning when the day is new?”

This song was released in 1966, about the start of the sexual revolution. Will they perform it in the Great Auditorium this summer?

When we think of Ocean Grove architecture, we usually think Victorian. But if we are looking for funky, sexy, charming, cozy, cuddly, cute, and affordable, we think of OG’s collection of delightful cottages. You probably have at least one on the street where you live.

Everyone loves those Ocean Grove cottages.  I discovered this one by accident.   You had to actually walk by it to notice it.  I paused to admire this entrancing Victorian. It made me feel that I had discovered a very special place from another era.  An older gentleman was standing on the porch. (I consider anyone older than I to be an older gentleman.)

Our eyes met, so I had to do something.   I came closer and I told him that I was from Blogfinger.  He never heard of BF  (that happens a lot as I travel around the Grove).  He looked at me quizzingly.   I said, “We’re an Ocean Grove web site, and I would like to put a picture of your beautiful home on the Internet.”

“That’s fine,” he said.

“Do you have a computer?”   I asked.

“Yes,” he said.

“Well, here’s my card.  May I take some photos of your home ?”  (I really wanted him to go inside for this shot.)

“I’ll just go inside now,” he said.

“Thank you,” I said as I got out my iPhone and took a few frames  (the light was excellent).  I did it quickly because I imagined that when he went inside, there would  be a termagant who would yell, “No way José”

But everything was fine, and you get to see a very very Ocean Grovey cottage.

The contest winner is OGJaimie.  He will collect his prize at Seasons at 69 Main Avenue—Unique Gifts and Goods for Him, Her and Home.

LEE WILEY with “Oh!  Look At Me Now.”   (Joe Bushkin wrote this song, and Frank Sinatra made it famous while performing with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra)
