Wassup in OG: 8/6/25

July 24, 2025. 9 am. Paul Goldfinger photo at Boardwalk Pavilion  where  a CMA bully  demanded that I stop photographing  there.

a. Photography  at  the Boardwalk  Pavilion.   You may recall that the CMA sent out hit men to demand that I stop photographing near the Pavilion. This happened twice.  They claimed that there were kids inside and that I did not get permission.  However my published image above shows people inside as black silhouettes.

They encourage their badge checkers to freely photograph the Pavilion  to obtain pics for publicity purposes.

Well I now see that they are publishing the photo below on their website.  The people visible in the Pavilion look just like the people in my photos.  Double standards!

CMA photo on the Internet. 2025. Hypocrites?

b.  Neptune Clerk.  For those of you who don’t know the names of the Neptune Committee members much less the names of important Township officials, the previous Township Clerk left her post under worrisome circumstances a few months ago.

I met her replacement yesterday:  He is William Bray. His last position was as spokesman for New Brunswick governance.  Before that he was a journalist–a reporter.

I found him to be friendly and knowledgeable.

c.  Regarding the Sunday 3 hour beach closure debate, The NJ Attorney General butted in and suggested that the DEP close the beach as before, but evidently the final decision by the DEP is still  pending.

Recent APP and Patch  articles on this matter:  (in quotes below:)

“She (Attorney General ) wrote that the Camp Meeting Association is not being unreasonable in “interfering with public access for several hours only on summer Sunday mornings and that the town does provide the general public with reasonable access to the water and to the dry sand beach throughout the year, including the summer months,” according to the Asbury Park Press, which obtained a copy of her decision.

APP:   “It now remains to be seen if DEP commissioner Shawn LaTourette will accept, modify or reject her AG  ruling. On July 18, the New Jersey Attorney General filed objections to Caliguire’s. (Administrative Judge in Trenton)  decision, calling on LaTourette  (DEP ) to overrule it’s original ruling threatening fines. .”

Patch:   “Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association President Michael Badger said he thinks the town is a victim of religious persecution. He said Ocean Grove was founded as a Methodist summer seaside retreat, and is still used by Methodist religious groups today.”

“Keeping the beaches closed leads to a quieter, less crowded and more relaxed Sunday morning in Ocean Grove: You do not have the crowds that you have on a Saturday morning. You don’t have the jingle from the ice cream trucks running up and down the beach. You can get a parking space so you can walk to breakfast or yes, walk to church,” he told Patch in this 2023 article.

“He also argues there are many other Jersey Shore towns that close or partially block off their beaches from time to time — and are not threatened by the state.

“After Long Branch had that problem with the pop-up parties, they closed their beaches at night,” Badger previously said. “And Asbury Park, which just had the Sea.Hear.Now festival, put barricades up at either end of their beaches to prevent people from getting onto the beach. Those barricades were in place all weekend.

(Blogfinger pointed this out in our post about the Festival where they wouldn’t allow me to go on the beach to photograph the news.). Only some received press passes for the event.  (bias)

“In recent summers, both Ocean City and Seaside Heights have closed their beaches at 8 p.m. to discourage teens from gathering there. Neither town was issued a violation notice from the state.”

c+:  Neptune taxes are skyrocketing.  The August 6 Coaster reports on this matter.  The Neptune Mayor concludes with this quote:”

“The township and district will continue to look for ways to help ease the burden the increased costs have had on Neptune.

“We have to be good guardians for our residents,” Lane said. “We do what we can as a township.”

d.

This young lady walked past the Pavilion. Why didn’t the CMA demand that she leave the boards?   (see their beach and boardwalk rules about “indecent exposure.”  And they didn’t care that I posted this Grovarian babe. In fact I have a photo of an OG lifeguard in similar attire. The CMA needs to be consistent in their condemnations and their condominiums.

  1. Funny I remember when there was a model agency(Model Team) in OG. Lots of photo shoots on beach with mostly teenage girls in bikinis.
