c. An elderly Grover fell on Main Avenue while crossing the street. She was banged up, but nothing serious. Another senior in OG fell down the stairs while carrying something and not holding on to the bannister.
Another Grover tripped and fell while walking through a cluttered basement. Falls are a major problem for seniors in that a fall can trigger a cascade of problems resulting in admission to a long term care facility. BE CAREFUL AND HOLD ON.
A friend tripped in his driveway hitting his head, his face and his chest. He wound up with a laceration over his eye, a “black eye,” two rib fractures and the need for a head scan. (which was OK). He went to an ER where he spent 3 hours without any serious injuries.
d. Birding in the Grove. A wide variety of birds has shown up because it is spring. Mating rituals are prevalent in our backyard, but that doesn’t include Grovers. In the last few days we have had: white throated sparrow, eastern towhee, chimney sweep, red-winged blackbird, mourning dove, house finch, European starling, northern cardinal, and a mystery bird which is reddish-rust underneath and light tan above. We’ll try for a photo, but they are skittish.

I saw a hummingbird this morning on Webb. So cool!
