The staff at Wegmans knows their seafood. The selection is big, beautiful, and always fresh.
There are live lobsters, and the staff will prepare/steam the lobsters–just come to pick them up. Or you can go there, watch them swim. (the lobsters, not the workers behind the counters,) and then choose your own. You can also choose a whole fish , and they will fillet it for you.
We think that Wegmans is the best in the area for seafood. We recently discovered belly salmon there, and it is delicious .
Another marvelous seafood place is “Mr. Shrimp” in Wall, not far from the Grove.

Klein’s Seafood restaurant and market in Belmar. An institution for seafood in this area. Cross the Rt. 71 Shark River bridge and turn right. Indoors and outside dining overlooking the river. Excellent lobster dinners and a bar, Paul Goldfinger photo 4/4/25. Blogfinger.net Kleins was closed when I went there for these photos early in the morning; thus no customers.
Also there is “Cousins Maine Lobster” in A, Park on the boardwalk. In season you can sit on the boards and enjoy lobster. There is seating inside as well.
