We met Gina Vintalore, owner of Selah, at Bagel Talk, at 7 am. She was buying a bag of bagels for her guests. Selah is family owned and they have just opened.
Gina says that her B&B’s theme is “rest, relaxation, and renewal.” Her card says, “Come–Rest and reflect at Selah”. She undoubtedly got the “renewal” idea from the CMA’s slogan.
“Selah” is based on a Hebrew biblical word which means “interlude.”
She is limiting her young guests to 12 and up. Selah will be open 12 months per year.

JERRY ORBACH: “There’s a Small Hotel” is a Rodgers and Hart song (1937) which Sinatra sang in the movie Pal Joey. But Gina does not have a wishing well. Richard Rodgers was inspired by visiting the Stockton Inn in Stockton New Jersey. We visited that Jersey town. Jerry Orbach was a fabulous Broadway performer. (Remember The Fantasticks?)
I don’t remember the year, but Jerry (Orbach) was awarded a special Tony for the most Broadway performances ever.
Editor: Carl Swenson is a Grover who is also a retired actor who once appeared in the Fantasticks as a father. Jerry starred as El Gallo. Carl is also an artist who appeared in the recent Art on the Porch.
