During the Feb. 25 HOA meeting there was a round of applause because there were about 200 people in attendance–live and via ZOOM. But, as we said before, the census population for Ocean Grove is more than 3,000. So we can’t judge how the people of Ocean Grove feel about the Camp Meeting Association from that “forum.”. The crowd was not impartial or representative.
At Blogfinger we keep track of “visits.” We posted a report of that HOA meeting late on Feb 25. On Feb 26, 27, and into the early evening of Feb 28 we totaled over 2,000 visits, 10 times the number which attended the meeting.
This suggests that there is a great deal of interest in the topic which had to do with the relationship between the OG Camp Meeting Association and the residents of Ocean Grove.
But we don’t know how those many visitors to BF feel about the issues that were considered at the meeting.
It should be noted that no one appointed the HOA to represent the resident community in town. We don’t know how many home owners are members because the HOA web site is keeping that number quiet. After that meeting, they may be losing members who wouldn’t want to associate themselves with that “hatchet job,” and renters are not accepted into that group, and many homeowners don’t belong, or they belong but they are inactive.
Blogfinger will continue to monitor the situation.
