Re: Ocean Grove dog dangers and leash laws.

I think it would be useful for you to post the dog leash law for Neptune Township. We have seen a number of owners with (large) dogs unleashed around the area, specifically in Fireman’s Park. Many of us who own small dogs and have guests with children are concerned about the risks imposed by those who let their dogs run loose around OG.

THE SOLITAIRES:
OG had its own leash law, at least for the summer months, in 1926. In the early days of OG, people allowed dogs to roam at large creating problems. Starting in 1878, all dogs had to be muzzled, though there was a question how common this was.
The rise in rabies towards the 1890s raised much concern.
