At the HOA meeting on Saturday Feb 25, President Richard Williams led off by announcing some progress regarding the proposed Resident Parking Plan which will need Township approval. Tomorrow, Feb 26, at the 6 pm Committee Workshop, a vote will be taken to proceed with trial run.
Joyce Klein, Parking Committee Chairman, announced that there was a recent meeting with the Mayor which resulted in a “compromise”.
They agreed on a trial pilot of Zone 1 to begin in September and last for 4 months. That is the zone which is adjacent to Asbury. More zones will be added for the summer of 2024. You can see the zone map at the OGHOA web site.
A beginning this year was out of the question because of extensive preparations which would include software and signage.
Ms. Klein requested that citizens show up for that 6 pm Workshop at the Mother Ship—25 Neptune Blvd.. The entire Committee will vote. At the end of the regular meeting at 7 pm, anyone can go to the mike for a brief 3 minute comment. If you go over your time, they will have the policeman on duty remove you physically; Just ask Jack Bredin.
There will be a straw poll of the 5 person Committee, and if 3 or more say “Yes” then an ordinance will be drafted and will begin the process of actual approval.
The 3 hour limited parking plan in the business sector is moving to approval of the ordinance. That will be a “YES.”
SHE AND HIM: Leave your car; it’s OK. Stay all night. The police won’t bother you. But you can’t use my parking sticker.
I heard they voted “NO”
Kevin: The 2020 census found 3, 151 countable citizens in the Grove. Only a small number attended that horrid meeting on Saturday. And only a small number said anything–almost all negative. The meeting was designed to attract folks who dislike the CMA. It was a set-up.
The HOA is an incompetent and impotent group who now have forfeited their chance to re-invent Ocean Grove. The HOA does not speak for all the people who live in OG.
The Neptune United has revealed itself to be a group of agitators whose agenda can do no good in town.
The CMA has exceeded its bounds and now needs to be persuaded to sharply change its direction. Our town is to be governed and directed by our citizens, not by theocratic landowners. That is how America is supposed to be.
The largest faction in town are the renters and homeowners, mostly who are secular small town people. They need to organize into a group for all which should restore the Master Plan for Ocean Grove and then persuade the Neptune Comedy to come out of the shadows and pay attention to we-the-people. Single party rule has been toxic for this town—find a way to change it.
Kevin: I think you are too pessimistic. This town can become something very wonderful, celebrating diversity for all. It cannot be allowed to continue as a fractured mish-mash without democratic direction. It needs a plan to suit all its residents so that all of us can live here comfortably, free, with equality and with pride in our town.

I want to know why the Township planner hasn’t been involved with this parking trial instead of all these people that aren’t certified to do a parking study? Clearly the planner isn’t involved because what the Township is doing is in violation of both state and federal laws.
This is the same story, Neptune continues to violate the law to cover up the fact that they continue the violations of law they continually approve in order to continue to violate our rights.
