Jack and Jean Bredin–a few years ago. Jean’s family album photo. Jean looks beautiful and happy, and Jack–well, that shirt….
Jean Bredin: “Jack’s first car was a 1949 red and white Ford convertible. He was 17…I was 16, and the year was 1957.
He paid $65.00 (a fortune in those days) and for 25 cents in gas you could cruise around for hours.”
Editor’s note: If you parked that car on a date, you wouldn’t use any gas at all.
In 1957 there was the opening of West Side Story on Broadway. Jack Bredin worked on Broadway shows, so he is familiar with that music:
CAROL LAWRENCE AND LARRY KIRT from the original 1957 cast album of West Side Story.
