When I saw these porgies at Wegmans, I couldn’t help think of the opera “Porgy and Bess.” In that show, the fish of the day was actually catfish because the show was set at Catfish Row in South Carolina. But the hero was named Porgy.
And I couldn’t help be reminded of the wonderful music from Porgy and Bess by George and Ira Gershwin.
