There was a walk-a-thon this Sunday morning to raise funds for “Ocean’s Harbor House, a shelter for homeless, runaway, neglected, and abandoned youth in Tom’s River, ages 10-19.”
Many young people were present as were police officers from the Monmouth and Ocean County Sheriff’s offices.
The horse belongs to a police officer with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. The dog was just walking by when it noticed the horse–it pulled its owner over.
Here’s what the dog said to the horse:
“A horse walks into a bar and orders a drink. The bartender looks at the horse and says, ‘Why the long face?'”
Bull Terriers are not supposed to like other animals, but this looks like a friendship in the making.
Shaun Golden, the Monmouth County Sheriff said hello to us.
And upon returning to the OG side, this was the scene (below:)
It’s truly a tale of two cities—for now.

When OGNED gets through with our North End we will get to look a lot more like A. Park. Currently the contrast is welcomed. Notice the air, light. views and distancing on the OG side.
And by the way, when did we last have a secular event on a Sunday on our boards?
According to the CMA during the Sandy/FEMA brouhaha, the OG boardwalk is a “public thoroughfare.” So why can’t we have Sunday non-religious events?
The boardwalk should be run by an OG Boardwalk Commission, and Sunday events should be allowed. It’s time to redesign Ocean Grove’s Master Plan to end the church vs state situation.
