If you study the Event Calendar on the CMA website, you will find that June is full of activities including those in the Great Auditorium and the “Sanctuary” (ie Tabernacle.)
Sunday services emerge again towards the end of the month, and there are events scheduled in the boardwalk pavilion which include the Beach Church. And rehearsals begin for the teen show. Choir rehearsals will be held in the Great Auditorium.
These events can attract large crowds. But epidemiologists tell us that distancing will extend through the summer. The timelines are still unclear, but the CMA is willing to gamble with their schedule.
And the Boardwalk story continues. The CMA now acts like it owns the boards in OG, but they said it was a public thoroughfare for FEMA consideration after Sandy.
And, on July 3, 2014, CMA President Whilden said, while speaking to a large crowd* on the boardwalk, including the governor and other officials. “This is not the Camp Meeting’s Boardwalk; this is the Jersey Shore’s Boardwalk.”
*This was the ribbon cutting for the new Middle Beach Boardwalk. Also present were our representatives in Trenton.
The schedule also includes the Neptune High School Graduation, a very crowded event at the end of June.
