My car was wrong this Thursday morning, despite the fact that I am aware that there is sweeping this week. Others also were ill informed or mistaken.
How about bringing back the paper booklets/calendars that spell out all the DPW functions in plain English (“..the Americans haven’t used it for years.”—My Fair Lady.)
We used to use it, and it was helpful. They said that cancelling it was a money saving necessity, but I was skeptical as to that motive.

At least you didn’t get a ticket!
A few years ago, I had a rental car with PA plates. I was in AP, meeting a friend at her fave breakfast spot at 8. Signs said “Street Sweeping No Parking Friday before 8” or something like that. It was 5 minutes ’til 8, and I watched the sweeper go down the street, slaloming around parked cars, all with NJ plates.
After it was gone, I parked; not a minute later, a parking enforcer zoomed up and ticketed my car ($30), but not the other ones. I ran out and said, “Look, you can clearly see (pointing at the wet stripe) that I parked AFTER the sweeper went thru. Why not ticket these cars (pointing at the ones you could see the sweeper went around?)”
She pretty much said, “Because you have PA plates, you’re a tourist.”
When I went to the office to pay the ticket, I commented that it was really unfair to target out-of-state plates. That’s $30 I’m not spending at Asbury bars, cafe’s, stores, etc.
