Around town with Jean: Paul Eichlin recreates music of another era. Photo by Jean Bredin, Blogfinger staff. Feb. 26, 2017. ©
Jean says:
“Paul Eichlin of Ocean Grove is an icon sitting in the middle of the cold, dank Casino building on the Boardwalk playing his songs that sound like you’re on the carousel in an amusement park. He could sit out in the warm sunshine, but the acoustics are divine inside the building.
“He sits with his two buckets. One for tips, one for his cigarette butts, I guess. How he manages to play and dangle a butt in his mouth at the same time is part of his persona.”
Editor’s note: Blogfinger posted an item about Paul last summer. Click on the link below to hear a sample of the sort of music he plays. Paul’s music is nostalgic and is reminiscent of carnivals, merry-go-rounds, and cotton candy.
I think we will record him live next July when the air is thick with the aromas of summer. —-PG
Thank-You. There is a new line up of more songs to be added to the existing ones. I thank everyone for all their support and encouragement as you make it all possible!
