The Neptune Township PD has announced the arrest of Michael Barrett, a 29-year-old Ocean Grover from Heck Avenue. Barrett was charged with “theft by deception, forgery, uttering and theft,” police said. Uttering refers to passing a bad check.
According to the NTPD spokesman, “the charges are the result of an investigation where personal checks were stolen from a victim and cashed against the account of a second victim. Both victims reside in Ocean Grove and know Barrett.”
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, please call 732 988 8000.
Barrett’s bail was set at $40,000. Records show he was bonded out on Monday, February 20.

Someone should tell these (and all other) criminals that it’s just plain easier getting a real job and living an honest life. They can’t possibly believe that going to jail is worth passing a bad check, stealing an ipod, etc.
