From the Asbury Park Press today:


“We are delighted to start the process of replacing the old boardwalk on the South End with new materials that will match the rest of the boardwalk,” Jamie Jackson, executive director and chief operating officer for the camp meeting association said. “It is a much-needed upgrade and we look forward to this spring when the entire boardwalk is finished with new Trex decking.”

600 linear feet will be replaced by spring.

Finally, eight years post Sandy, the boardwalk will be completed.  And not a dime from Neptune Township even though those Neptuners walk those boards regularly.

And this is what a prominent Grover had to say, “Almost 8 years since Sandy, and no word about the cross shaped pier.”

And a historic note:  On Jan 13, 2013, the following item was in Blogfinger:

“At the south end, the boardwalk will be fully repaired and operational from Bradley Beach to Ocean Grove’s beachfront office/bathhouse complex at the foot of Embury Avenue.”
