TO THE EDITOR:
As you know Neptune Township, particularly Mayor Randy Bishop, has been having daily conference calls with a group of individuals including the Presidents and other officials from the various home owner groups throughout the Township. Everything presented in these conference calls were then broadcast to Neptune Township residents by reverse 911 calls and email. Of course without power the only way to get the information was with a smartphone. However, even the cell phones were not working effectively.
It seems that some of our residents still do not have power. The Mayor has been in contact with JCP&L on a daily basis. He has not been given a definitive time line for the restoration of power to those residents still without. For residents trying to obtain information from JCP&L be assured you will receive the same information that the Mayor is receiving. Hopefully all of you have access to email and have been receiving updates from the township on all matters relating to the aftereffects of Sandy.
I am asking you to forward this email to as many people as you can. If we can obtain a list of the homes/condos without power we can try to help the residents. With the high winds expected today and tonight along with additional coastal flooding and rain/snow we may all be losing power again. Let’s hope we get through this storm intact.
