TO THE EDITOR:
As you know Neptune Township, particularly Mayor Randy Bishop, has been having daily conference calls with a group of individuals including the Presidents and other officials from the various home owner groups throughout the Township. Everything presented in these conference calls were then broadcast to Neptune Township residents by reverse 911 calls and email. Of course without power the only way to get the information was with a smartphone. However, even the cell phones were not working effectively.
It seems that some of our residents still do not have power. The Mayor has been in contact with JCP&L on a daily basis. He has not been given a definitive time line for the restoration of power to those residents still without. For residents trying to obtain information from JCP&L be assured you will receive the same information that the Mayor is receiving. Hopefully all of you have access to email and have been receiving updates from the township on all matters relating to the aftereffects of Sandy.
I am asking you to forward this email to as many people as you can. If we can obtain a list of the homes/condos without power we can try to help the residents. With the high winds expected today and tonight along with additional coastal flooding and rain/snow we may all be losing power again. Let’s hope we get through this storm intact.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to call me at 732-361-6260 (home), 908-451-6824(cell) or email me at :

Lights came on at 1:30 Friday , Indiana crew couldn’t believe how easy the fix was and upset that it took so long to repair, however, lights and heat are back
No power in the center of Abbott Ave third block 45 through 55 both sides of the street. One of the linemen yesterday said they knew what it was and then left, honest.
As of 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, there is no power on Cookman Avenue
between Pilgrim Pathway and New York Avenue.
Bless your heart Sue – what a wonderful job your family is doing to help those who are still suffering. Next time we need a contractor we will surely call you.
Hi,
I am sure you are aware but the entire 1st block at Broadway and Abbott continue to be out of power. I live on Broadway but more importantly my husband and I own Sawbucks Contracting and we have been trying to pump out and dry homes throughout this area. Many homes had over 4 feet of water. We must use generators and gas to dry out these homes. It is expensive for the homeowner and the drying process takes a longer time because the generators must be turned off when not attended at night.
This area should be made a priority.
If there are safety reasons for the outage then the affected area should be made aware of them. If safety is a concern is anyone contacting the homes where there are no residents? Has anyone checked these vacant homes for standing water?
We are available to help in anyway needed.
Sue Solebello
My neighbors across the street (and her tenant) have no power 34 Heck. Also 38 Heck but not 36. I’m thinking 34 and 38 Heck are on the Embury circuit as most of the first two blocks of Embury seem to be out.
Broadway and Abbott from Central to Ocean Avenue and I think some areas of Webb Avenue. We would just like an estimated time and the reason for the delay. Also, we are very concerned about the precautions that we have to take with our electricity, furnace and gas. Do we turn everything off? Do we need to be inspected before the electricity is turned back on.(safety reasons)
I just spoke to Ann, but also reply here in case helpful. 7 and 9 Embury Avenue are still without power, as are all the other residents in at least the first block of Embury. Thank you for your support.
44 to 56 Abbott Avenue. Many are year round residents.
I personally think before those of us who still do not have power should send a note with the bill saying. We can not give u a definative answer as to when we will be paying it

I just called Ann, but also reply here. 7 and 9 Embury Avenue are still without power, as I believe is also the case for all other homes in at least the first block of Embury. Thank you for your support.
Jim. Thank you. I will fix that in the letter. Paul
There is not an email address within the letter.
I think that the southwest corner of Central and Embury is still without power (no lights there last night) – 44 and 46 Embury.
