The barren North End of OG. Developers are struggling to get approvals from the DEP. Blogfinger.net

Paul Goldfinger,  Editor @Blogfinger.net

It’s taken the OGNED developers a long time to get to this point.  The DEP has challenged them on issues such as the underground garage and flood hazard area verifications.

But now the DEP says that all the “required information” has been submitted.

DEP told OGNED in a letter on October 7  that “the project is considered complete for the purpose of public review and comment.”

The official letter to OGNED says:   “The public comment period will begin with publication in the DEP Bulletin on Oct. 21, 2020 and continue for 60 calendar days, ending Dec. 19, 2020.”

But, don’t be fooled by this official language; the process is ongoing, and nothing has been approved yet.

We have reached this point without any updated public statements on the subject by Neptune Township, the CMA, the Home Groaners, or the opaque and secretive OGNED.

This is the biggest project in Ocean Grove history, yet the citizens remain in the dark.  This lack of transparency is disgraceful and an ongoing insult to the people of OG.

For those of you who belong to the HOA, they must be pushed into an activist roll to make the “public review” process happen and to express the opposition of the citizens of OG to this project. And other groups should participate including the Historical Society and the Chamber of Commerce.

You can be sure that the players in this project wish that we would all go away, and we don’t know if the DEP will participate in the public review proceedings.

Let’s try to call the whole thing off:
