Today’s Asbury Park Press reports that A. Park city officials are working with the Governor to protect ocean front property at their North End from condos.
The Press reports: “Advocacy groups and city officials have lobbied for the preservation of the Asbury Park North Beach site, where waterfront developer iStar Financial has proposed building 15 townhouses. The Surfrider Foundation, which is dedicated to the protection of oceans and beaches, says the site, commonly known as Bradley Cove, should be preserved and used for recreation or an oceanfront park”
The contrast to our situation at our North End is striking—like a bolt of lightening.
Once again, why are our public officials not trying to protect our North End from condo developers? What is wrong with our elected officials? Why don’t they look to protect the people instead of the developers ? What happened to Mary Beth Jahn and her promises to fulfill the original zoning for single family homes at our North End?
And why don’t our committeemen look to protect the environment?
