The Angel House in Asbury Park

In 2016, this historic house was sold for $425,000.

In 2018, we were informed that the new owner was going to do renovations.

Now, April 19,  2021, we had over 100 referrals on Blogfinger for the photograph above.  This suggests a great deal of interest in this property.  We were curious.

Today we visited the site after learning that it is for sale for $985,000.  The internet pitch says that extensive historic restorations were done on this house, and from the photos, it appears that wonderful interior  improvements were made. Eileen saw the photos and said it looked “gorgeous.”

We liked the exterior look best as seen in our 2014 photograph  (above.)   At that time the property  seemed to have historic character.  It was as if it had a personality  all its own. The site now is pretty but looks lifeless.

The color now (blue with purple) doesn’t seem to fit with the 1884 era of this house, and the railings are contemporary.

But the location is wonderful on 7th Avenue near the beach and boardwalk. It is a roomy home that can be terrific for company.

Here’s the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra which says, “You’re as Pretty as a Picture.”
