Modern OG history—7/28/2013. Ocean Grove fishing pier meets the water.

April 1, 2026 by Blogfinger

Thanks to the work of some volunteers from American Fence in Pennsylvania, the fishing pier is now over the water. Well, it’s shallow water, but it is H20.  The pier is now about 250 feet long—half of its original length, but a lot longer than we expected after Sandy.

Along with 1/2 the pier, my Mom’s bench was ‘taken out’ during Sandy. We’re hoping it washes up somewhere on Daytona Beach & someone gives us a call. That would be an adventure she would have enjoyed. Her bench was the last one east facing south. Liberated, I’d like to think, to the ocean she loved.
