Anyone have some vinyl?

Edison with an early version of his phonograph. Getty Images.   Edison combined two technologies to create the phonograph in 1877  in New Jersey:  the telegraph and the telephone.

 

The patent was received in 1878. Later Alexander Graham Bell improved on the phonograph.

    Interesting that vinyl records are making a comeback . Yet CD sales on the other hand are declining. New records cost aprox. 6x times what they did back in the day. At first I thought this was crazy. However now having seen the beautiful coloured translucent vinyl I think as an art object – collectible maybe they are worth it.
