This is a fabulous new movie which just opened to rave reviews in the US in October, 2025
It is about the Broadway lyricist Lorenz Hart who worked with Richard Rodgers to write 1000 songs and many shows.
But the relationship fell apart, giving us Rodgers and Hammerstein II, the partners who wrote the all-time favorite “Oklahoma where the corn is as high as an “elephant’s eye.”
The movie is so good that I won’t waste your time with a Blogfinger analysis. Just watch this You Tube trailer and then rent or buy the film on Amazon.

Oh: Here is Greta Keller performing this song by Rodgers and Hart:

Another key theme is the artist’s struggle. Hart wrote over 1,000 songs with Rodgers, but alcoholism made him unreliable.
Success brings joy, but failure and change bring fear. He rants about Oklahoma while praising it to Rodgers’ face. The movie explores self-doubt, jealousy, and how creative people cope with being replaced. It honors Hart’s talent while showing his human flaws.
Almost all the action happens in one bar, like a play, with long talks that feel real and deep.
