Neptune Township is preparing for the next snow emergency. During the last snow, a few days ago, the NTPD ticketed over 100 cars in the Grove; my neighbor got one. No one was towed.
The issue mostly has to do with following ordinances about snow management; especially parking on the correct side of the street.
Best bet is to park now for the duration until snow is all cleared from roads.
Here is the official word from Deputy Chief Michael McGhee, NTPD. 1/18/24:
The Snow Parking Ordinance takes effect as soon as the roads are snow-covered, It is strongly recommended that vehicles be parked per the ordinance to avoid a 4:00 AM wake-up call from the NTPD.
Vehicles parked improperly not only delay the snow-clearing efforts of our DPW, but also risk being ticketed and/or towed. In Ocean Grove, vehicles must be parked as indicated by the permanent signs posted throughout the community. This is especially crucial in this area as the narrow streets make snow removal challenging and time-consuming. For the rest of Neptune Township, vehicles must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street.
