What to do if you don’t know what to have for dinner in OG. Call Luigi for his delicious grilled chicken hero on an Italian roll..They deliver!

This is not a pizza place; it is a piazza in Italy. Paul Goldfinger photo.

We have discovered Luigi’s Pizza and Restaurant in the West Grove Mall near 7-11. This is not a run-of-the-mill pizza joint,  although their pizza is quite good. It is an actual fine Italian restaurant.

And they deliver quickly to the Grove.  They have high quality  fresh ingredients, and their salads are wonderful–fresh, varied,  and crunchy;  We ordered a large salad to share,  but you can get an individual  smaller “side” salad.  But don’t miss the salads.

They have table service, but we did home delivery, and they know the Grove.

We ordered  the grilled chicken filet hero a few nights ago, and it was  exemplary–It hit the spot for a satisfying meal.   We got the large hero which was fine for 2.  Check their menu; it is impressive for a local eatery.

  1.  Grilled chicken hero (large for two).  The chicken consists of thin  filets with the grill marks, cooked to order.  Included are lettuce , tomato, onions and mayo.  We added yellow banana  (mild) peppers.   Some enjoy adding  oil and vinegar.
  2. The Italian hero rolls are toasted and better than Jersey Mike’s
  3. You can add other ingredients as well.  They aim to please. It is a family business.
  4. A side of pasta to order was very good.   We chose linguini with marinara.  Their side of  pasta is fine for 2.
  5. They also offer a side of fries which are hot, fresh, and yummy.   (We didn’t get the fries–linguni was perfect for us. But we have tasted them before.)
