This still image is from the currently streaming movie The Darkest Hour. The story is about the tense early days of Winston Churchill ‘s term as Prime Minister whose country is in danger of being overrun by the Nazi juggernaut in 1940.
Churchill faced a seemingly hopeless situation and was on the verge of being forced to negotiate with Hitler, but he then received the courageous support of the people of England and King George VI.
In this Paul Goldfinger still photograph, Churchill went to Parliament and gave the magnificent “We will never surrender” speech, and as he leaves he is met by roaring support.
