I spoke to a woman who has lived in OG for over 25 years. She is nearly 90 and she says that the demographics in town are changing. Her perspective is financial. She says that her former neighbors have moved in order to cash in on their houses. She thinks that the newcomers are wealthy, and that the varied types of Grovers are less evident. There is probably some truth to what she says, but she generalizes too much. Many residents are renters, and their socio-ecomiic profiles are different.
Cesar is a working man, maintaining a school in a nearby town. We have retirees, professors, musician, bakers, doctors, a receptionist, a yoga instructor, a publisher, shop owners in the Grove, a Blogfinger editor, and, believe it or not , a cantor from New York who rents out his home in our neighborhood at the North End.
