Dear Paul,
“Believe it or not my Paradise week is over, which is sad. This time around it was full of interesting moments from reciting my ‘Melody in Paradis’ to Dr. Gordon Turk after his magical Hope-Jones organ performance on Wednesday; my rare luck to see him play, perhaps just for the second time I recall, to reading my poem “Raspberry Cigar” to Megan, OG Bake Shoppe owner’s daughter and, of course, reciting some of my 25+ OG verses to Majestic hotel staff.
An excellent weather that provided uninterrupted AM Green Flag beach experience was just another lucky ingredient to my love potion of Ocean Grove.
Having made new friends last year over whale watching added an unforgettable spin to my otherwise ‘all by myself’ annual OG endeavor.
Not to forget my first ‘Summer Stars‘ concert attendance where I had learned of a fascinating musical genius Astor Piazzolla whose tango tunes I cannot stop listening to since. A rare low flying four engine aircraft sighting that I saw day and then night, see my pic from my balcony while sipping Chardonnay with Raspberry Rugelach, look for alien white lights between most right boardwalk lamp posts.
Igor.
Editor’s note: To hear the reflections of a poet who reminds us of how we might have felt visiting Ocean Grove for the first time. And I also am a big fan of the tango music of Astor Piazzolla.
