Got nine minutes for Joshua Bell and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, opus 64. II, Andante?  It is with Neville Mariner and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields  (London)

Say what you will about Asbury Park, but I don’t see condominiums and hotels going up over there on Grand Avenue, a location where a wonderful Gothic church faces it and complements it from across the street.

Compare this to the monstrous plan for Ocean Grove’s North End.

Paulie: But look at the respect given to this historic marker. This is a lovely and classic space that doesn’t need “sparkle and bloom” to be appreciated. People need to see that there is another side to Asbury Park, and this tribute to literature and architecture is quite special.

That is why I posted Mendelssohn with it. He can handle it.

Looks like a diamond in the rough. This monument needs the Ted Bell/Garden club treatment afforded to the urns in Founder’s Park. Time to spruce up the area, not a planting in sight. With some effort the area could sparkle and bloom next year. A great picture!
