Not only did we have a “down home” art display in the park, but we also had art shows on the boardwalk, and those activities were beautiful and manageable .
Finding grass roots events for the Grove will help cast a beautiful shadow over those mega low-brow happenings such as the Flea Markets. There were also other culturally rich events for We-The -People such as the Civil War re-encampments.
And how about street music sized to our beautiful town:
BLOSSOM DEARIE: Music can be poetry. “It Might As Well be Spring:”
“I’m as busy as a spider spinning daydreams
I’m as giddy as a baby on a swing
I haven’t seen a crocus or a rosebud
Or a robin on the wing”
What will the Grove be like in the future? Special performances of secular musicians to balance the religious programming?
ENNIO MORRICONE. (composer): “The Mission.” Movie soundtrack.
