You may have noticed an increase in 3 wheelers around town, and very often they have two key features: electric and/or fold up.
Seniors are taking to trikes, so we may see more on our streets. They are safer for those who may have balance problems vs biking on two wheels. It seems like most purchases are done on-line, but shops that sell them are beginning to show up.
Ken Seigler of E-Bike King of NJ suggester Mooncool.com for on-line purchases.. Ken makes custom 3 wheelers. A good one costs $1,500 to $2,000, but prices vary.
I haven’t bought one, but I am tempted. They don’t go very fast, and there are less risks, but in our town which is difficult for bikes, a 3 wheel rider still has to remain vigilant.
There is a new idea which someone told me about. There is a company in Asbury where you can bring in a new bike ordered from the internet, and they will assemble the bike for whatever is needed, such as mounting the motor.
E-Bike King of NJ is at 814 Asbury Ave in A. Park. 07712. Ken Seigler does assembly, custom builds and repairs. It is across from the electric supply place (Monarch) near the tracks. Parking is a bit worrisome.
He says that he is “The Jersey Shore’s #1 E-Bike Shop”. He claims that someone in OG bought 5 bikes from him. I asked him if he wants some publicity, and he is eager for work.
