Girls in stylish clothes will come here. Just ask her name, get coffees, and find two seats. It is a place to meet….someone.

Here is a link to our February post about Odyssey V. 1.0:
Odyssey Version 2.0: March 4, 2025. Blogfinger.net
This is news of great importance. Coffee shops have become favorite hangouts in most small towns. After all, OG has no bars. Starbucks started the movement, and we know their history. Along with their widespread presence came expensive coffee drinks. Note that coffee prices have been rising lately.
There have been other coffee shops in OG, but the most recent (since 2018) has been Odyssey Coffee, however it was too small in its original location at 50 Main Avenue.
This new version of Odyssey Coffee occupies a building that was a bank in the past and then a clothing store.
Many Grovers and visitors have been looking forward to this news. Odyssey now is large. It is rectangular with a corridor containing tables and seating along the row of windows in the front. Many of those 4 seat tables were occupied with singles on March 4 when I came in at 3 pm., and most of the seating was taken.
The word at the prior site was that a nice vibe was developing despite the size, and now, we may discover something special will be emerging that will draw all to the new Odyssey Coffee.

A Greek scholar no doubt writing an epic poem at Odyssey. His hero must be Homer. He is seated in the vertical corridor with the sun illuminating his work, late afternoon Ocean Grove. Paul Goldfinger photograph. 3/4/25.
When you enter and turn left, the whole side straight ahead is devoted to ordering coffee drinks and food items. A line had formed, and the two workers had their hands full.
Between the front operation and the corridor is some more limited seating, and a few tables are outside.
In the middle, to the right, is a small art gallery, formerly a bank vault, which currently harbors about 14.paintings by OG artist Jack Green IV.
On the walls are pages from Homer’s Odyssey. This is what the Internet AI says,
Editor BF: -“Ahem! This AI is not Jewish, if you know what I mean.”
This new Odyssey Coffee carries great hope for those who’ve wished for a roomy home- away -from home in the Grove. And you can go in and presumably find a bathroom—goood news for visitors.
This post is not a review of this coffee shrine—-I went there to show our readers what the new Odyssey looks like and I haven’t yet tried their coffee.
I suggest you all go there, try the drinks (coffee and tea) and the foods, and let us know what you think. Either use the comment button below or send us an email. Blogfinger@verizon.net. You can be anonymous.
Maybe the new Odyssey will eventually feel like home for We-The -People.
BOB DYLAN:

I stopped in to experience the new Odyssey Coffee.
A combination of good service and elegance.
I had a tasty chocolate croissant which they offered to heat for me and a good cup of coffee while sitting by
a sunny window overlooking Main Avenue
The crowd was lively and enjoying themselves,
as if they’ve been waiting for this their whole life!
Bravo Odyssey !
I’ll be back.
