Editor’s note: Paul Goldfinger, Blogfinger.net. 1/16/25.
Blogfinger posted this HSOG video 9 years ago, and we just stumbled on it again. So I have no current (2025) information.
The video below was created in 2016 by the dynamic duo of Mary Solecki and Kim Brittingham of Ocean Grove, New Jersey. The Historical Society of Ocean Grove is the producer of the video series and did a wonderful job of bringing OG history to life.
THE RJUKAN SHIPWRECK;
Did you know that there are the remains of a 19th century shipwreck just off the beach where Ocean Grove and Bradley Beach meet? It’s true!
This episode of our video series shares the story of the heroic rescue by two local brothers, the controversy that followed, and the interesting spot in Asbury Park where some of the ship’s wood wound up.

BOB DYLAN:

Wonderful! I especially appreciate the move the HSOG is making to use new media and to make its work accessible to friends outside the Grove.
…Very informative and narrative was great!
Someone. I take no credit for this. These videos are really special, and all kudos go to Mary and Kim, our version of Coppola and Scorsese.
Excellent Mr. G.
