The symposium above is being promoted by the OGHOA on their Facebook page.
The Ocean Grove Homeowners Association is supposed to concern itself with Ocean Grove. But they are promoting a symposium which plans to “explore how the incoming administration’s policies will shape our industries, communities, and futures.”
Isn’t this something like granting a pardon before a crime is committed?
How can this “symposium” accomplish its goal to judge “policies” when the new administration has not yet been given the power to have any policies?
The League of Women Voters is supposed to be “nonpartisan.” Does this symposium which is scheduled for two days prior to the inauguration sound like it will be nonpartisan? Shouldn’t this “nonpartisan” group instead promote viewing the inauguration and hearing what Trump has to say as President before they schedule a meeting to find ways to compromise his presidency?
The OGHOA has a mission which does not mention concerning itself with partisan national politics. This is what their web site says:
The mission of the OGHOA is to protect and enhance property values and the quality of life in Ocean Grove. To that end, the Association provides a gathering place and forum for members and interested residents to discuss and exchange information and ideas about issues of concern to Ocean Grove homeowners.
This “symposium” sounds like an opportunity to develop strategies to harass the new administration before it has actually unveiled its policies.
Who are conducting this symposium and what are their political credentials? What’s the hurry to jump on this bandwagon?
Does the HOA believe in predicting the future? Is it nonpartisan? It ought to be. Why are they encouraging attendance at this potentially biased “civics symposium?”
The OGHOA should be supporting events which could benefit the people of Ocean Grove, not joining with the League of Women Voters of Monmouth County to work on ways to attack the new administration. Has the OGHOA been infiltrated by partisan members of that women’s league?
